Discover Europe is a Paneuropean Photo Contest for Students organised by Erasmus Student Network. In 2013 our Polish project took second place in European Charlemagne Youth Prize organised by European Parliament. Former EP President Hans-Gert Pöttering said:
"With 'Discover Europe' you have managed to focus youthful creativity and imagination on our united Europe. You recognise the European Union as our home and show that, in the midst of diversity, it is our values that unite us. "
The main aim of the competition is to show the beauty of Europe, its traditions, customs, citizens and to discover unknown places from Lisbon to Helsinki. Jury selects the best photos, submitted by the students from all over Europe.
Why should you take part in this photo contest?
Discover Europe is a great opportunity to broaden your horizons and you don’t have to be a professional photographer to take part in it. Sometimes even with a camera in your smartphone you can take breathtaking pictures. Undertaking this challenge you can gain new experience, break stereotypes, share your own histories, present interesting and exciting topics. In this extraordinary competition you can give full rein to your fantasy. Remember that only sky is a limit!
There are three main categories:
• Citizen of Europe – we – the citizens of Europe – are the main topic of this category
• Postcard from Europe – the places of significant importance to every one of us
• Surprise me, Europe – the case study of the most surprising moments
There are two stages:
• Regional stage,
• Central final stage.
The photos will be critiqued by a hand-picked jury.
